Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday June 1st at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM Friday June 2nd at the Alabama National Cemetery at Montevallo with Dr. Tom Ward officiating.
Mr. Armstrong was born on January 30, 1943 in Repton, Alabama to the late George Armstrong, Sr. and Mattie Luverne Robinson Armstrong. He was a seven year U.S. Navy veteran serving as a submariner during the Vietnam War. He was a retired electrical foreman and had worked in the construction field for many years. He loved country living and enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and football. He is survived by four daughters, Kelle Strankman and her husband, James, Kim Pickering and her husband, Scott, Michelle Mitchell and her husband Tony, Geni Erie and her husband, Fred; two sons, Jeff Armstrong and his wife, Creamalin, Joshua Armstrong and his wife Savannah; seventeen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and close friends.
