PARKER, James Merrill, age 81, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Lenny Bolton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at which time everyone will assemble at the graveside. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Nell Tatum Parker; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Beverly Parker; two grandchildren, Jaime (Glenn) McWhorter and Jared (Alisha) Parker; five great-grandchildren, Caden McWhorter, Chloe Parker McWhorter, Peyton Smith, Rebecca Parker and Penny Parker; special caregiver, Samantha Kessel and numerous other relatives. Mr. Parker retired from Whitfield Foods in 1994 after 37 years of service as truck driver and trucking supervisor and was also a Korean War Veteran. Pallbearers will be Jared Parker, Robin McDonald, Josh Kessel, Jason DeVaughn, Hunter DeVaughn, Sam Russell, Peyton Smith and Cody McLendon.
