

STRONG, Jr., James Morgan, 92, of Prattville, passed away Tuesday March 8, 2016. Visitation will be held Thursday March 10th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday March 11th at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Baptist Church with the Reverend Roger Parks officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Prattville Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Strong was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor. After the war he continued his military career by serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve and the U.S. Air Force. He had over 25 years of combined military service including World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars era service. After his retirement from the U.S. Air Force he worked for many years as an aircraft mechanic with the U.S. Civil Service at Maxwell AFB. He was a longtime member of Heritage Baptist Church and was a member of the Fountain City Flyers RC club and spent many enjoyable hours building and flying radio controlled model airplanes. He also enjoyed servicing and riding in his Ford Model T.
Mr. Strong was preceded in death by his parents, James Morgan Strong, Sr. and Frances Ruark Strong; a sister Betty Strong Dunn and a great grandson, Kelton Morgan Strong. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Electa Davis Strong; two sons; James Morgan Strong, III and his wife Nancy, Jamie Davis Strong and his wife Susan; grandchildren James Morgan Strong, IV, Harriet Strong Park-Hobbs (Andy), Christopher Morgan Strong, Michael Davis Strong, Chad Mason Strong, Clayton Davis Strong; great grandchildren; Grayton Park Hobbs, Addison Lynn Strong, Hannah Susan Strong and Sydney Morgan Strong; a brother in law, Guy (Joann) Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be James Morgan Strong, IV, Michael Davis Strong, Chad Mason Strong, Clayton Davis Strong, Jim Oliver and Dr. Edwin Mullins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church.
