Johnnie Young Burden age 86 of Deatsville, Alabama, formally of Gulf Shores, Al, born on January 30, 1939, passed away on April 24, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lottie Young; her brothers, John William Young, Paul "Bobo" Young, and Edison Young; her sisters, Oma Young Jeffcoat and Faye Young Callis; her husband, Cecil Burden; and her sons, Albert Williams, Chip Williams, and Martin Dale Williams. She is survived by her sister, Sitha Young Holland; her son Albert Creigton Williams Jr.; and stepdaughter, Frances (Jeff) Lamb.
Johnnie and her siblings moved to the Masonic Children's Home after their father passed during the Great Depression. Johnnie was a devout Christian. She served as Organist for The Oyster Bay Baptist Church in Gulf Shores, AL. She was very active in The Eastern Star where she served as Grand Secretary and Grand Organist. Johnnie loved Gospel Music and often took sister Faye and anyone else to Gospel Concerts throughout the Southeastern States. She loved working with plants and could grow anything. Because He Lives was a song she cherished. Johnnie will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A celebration of life for Johnnie will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Oyster Bay Baptist Church, 4280 Plash Road, Gulf Shores, AL 36542.
John 3:16 was her favorite verse "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever. believeth in Him shalt not perish but have everlasting life".
