Lee was known for being an extremely hard worker as well as valuing teaching others to have a hard work ethic. He was skilled in many crafts, spending his younger years as a mechanic as well as working in construction. This work experience made him known to be able to build anything! He also worked as a bouncer at "The Warehouse" in Selma, which he loved to share stories with his loved ones about. Lee went on to serve 33 years working in the oil field, which became the job he held the most pride in. He started this career off as a pipe-fitter, progressing through rank to become Field Foreman and Superintendent. He then became the proud owner of his own company, "Williams Inspections".
Since Lee valued work ethic, he made sure to instill it into his children. Although he was a very tough man, he was always quick to forgive those around him as well as making sure to never judge others. He was extremely down to earth, simple, and was always willing to go out of his way to help people. Lee was a people lover and loved absolutely everyone. While Lee brought his kids up, he would spend time with them by taking them deep-sea and freshwater fishing, as well as deer and pheasant hunting (only if their grades were high enough). His family was his world, especially his grandkids. He was present at every one of their events and programs. "PopPop" never missed a Grandparents Day or a Christmas morning opening presents with them. He also would bring them "Daylight Doughnuts" in Selma, every Sunday.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Lee will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067.
