

CASE, Melvin Lee, 90, of Prattville, passed away on Sunday October 25, 2015. Funeral services were held Wednesday October 28th at the Prattville First Presbyterian Church with military honors Pastor Bryant Hanson officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Case was born August 10, 1925 in Marlow, Oklahoma to the late William Pickens Case and Ella Todd Case. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the European and Pacific Theatres of war. He also served and retired from the Alabama Air National Guard. Melvin loved to travel with his wife, Nell, and together they visited many places including all of the United States except Hawaii.
Mr. Case was preceded in death by Nell, his loving wife of 67 years, his son Terry Case, a granddaughter, Monica Doherty , a grandson Christopher Doherty and a sister, Clara Goswick.
He is survived by a daughter and son in law, Sherry and Charles Bailey of Senoia, Ga.; a sister Christine Case Vinson of Bullard, TX.; a brother Claudie Ray Case of Garland, TX.; three grandchildren, Brian Case and his wife Karen, Lindsay Gladu and her husband Bryan, John Wood and his wife Amber; four great grandchildren Lauren Lovelace and her husband Braden, Adrianna Case, Andrew Case, Amber Case; one great, great grandchild Alexandria Case and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives. Active pallbearers will be Brian Case, Bryan Gladu, John Wood, Jay Kelim, Braden Lovelace and Billy Lynam. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Williams, Ron Rackley and the Prattville McDonald’s coffee club.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
