Michael "Mike" Steven Callis

Michael Steven “Mike” Callis, 71, of Montgomery, passed away January 25, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaston Callis; siblings, Judith Smitherman and Debbie Woodall and niece Mendi Callis. He is survived by his wife, Karen Callis; children, Michael “Bo” Callis, Brandon Callis, Candice “Candy” Hamblin (Steve) and Cassie Callis; grandchildren, Mychel Walrath and Kristin Hamblin; mother, Faye Callis and brother, Mark Callis (Beth) and many other extended relatives and friends.

Mike loved his family dearly. He had a very special bond with his brother, Mark. He also enjoyed hunting and was an excellent sharpshooter. He loved caring and raising cattle and had fond memories of growing up on his family’s dairy farm. Mike will be deeply missed by his family.

Five and a half years ago the doctors gave Mike maybe a year. Mike's will to live was strong , the doctors called him Superman. He was surely my superman , my rock , my best friend. I cannot imagine life without him. But here I am. So love hard , forgive always , and never give up! A visitation for Mike will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville Chapel, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Oakhill Cemetery, Prattville, Alabama.
