Ruth Hunt

Ruth was born June 21, 1921. She was number 12 of 14 children of Rev. Walter Lee Carr and Ziana Manning Carr and was the last child to pass. She is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband William Leon Hunt, her siblings and her sons-in-law, Jerome R. Dickey and Larry W. Youngblood.

Ruth is survived by her children Betty Hunt Dickey, Montgomery, AL, Sandra Hunt Youngblood, Prattville, AL and William Larry Hunt, Livingston, TX. As well as grandchildren, Melanie Dickey Jones (Clay), Dahlonega, GA, Laura Dickey Meaney (Leo), Murfreesboro, TN, Lynda Dickey Cahill (Jeff), Montgomery, AL, William Larry Youngblood (Heather), Prattville, AL, Brian Weldon Youngblood, Montgomery, AL, William Lee Hunt (Maureen) Roswell, GA, and Dorothy Hunt Ewing (Blake) Hoover, AL. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Ruth was an active member of First Baptist Church Prattville, AL until her health declined. She was involved in teaching children in church organizations including Sunday School, Sunbeams, and Sunday night activities. Ruth was also a member of the Garden Club in Prattville. As a Senior member, she sang with a group of ladies at the Assisted Living and Nursing homes in Prattville, AL.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Ridout's Funeral Home, Prattville, AL, 30 minutes prior to the 2:00 service followed by the burial at Prattville Memory Gardens, Prattville, AL.
