Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday November 28th followed by his funeral service at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Pastors Henry Williams and George Williams officiating.
Mr. DeRamus was born June 22, 1934 in Autauga County in to the late Eugene and Perine Jones DeRamus. He worked for many years in the cotton and textile industry as a dryer operator and was retired from Prattville Manufacturing Company.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Williams DeRamus, two sisters, Lou Ellen DeRamus Webb and Shelley DeRamus Ammons. He is survived by his two daughters and a son in law; Judy DeRamus Thornton and her husband James “Beanny” Thornton, Patty Shackleford Nelson; one brother, Melvin “Buddy” DeRamus; three grandchildren Teri Thornton Ray, Jason Edward Thornton, Katelyn Marie Thornton; three great grandchildren Carlee Nicole Burnette, Abby Elizabeth Ray and Jonathan Noah Ray.
