She was born on September 13, 1931, in Lincoln County, Kansas, to Hugo and Anna Fischer. Ardella later married Ormal Witte and together they raised three sons, Steve, Craig and Marc. The family made their home in Champaign, Illinois, before immigrating to Canada in 1976.
Ardella was a woman of deep faith who cared profoundly for her family. During their years in Champaign, the family made cherished trips back to Kansas to reunite with parents and relatives--memories that remained close to her heart.
She was known for her keen intellect and took great pride in having been an A student in mathematics. Ardella also had a love for gardening and was blessed with a true green thumb; nurturing both indoor and outdoor plants with care and dedication.
Ardella will be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
