John Leonard Vlchek

John was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Joyce Vlchek, and now reunited with many cherished family members and good friends, forever in heaven.

Born in Alberta, John found his forever home in Prince George, BC, alongside with the love of his life Joyce (1969).

He is survived by his beloved girl Pepper; his children, Kurt and Tanya; also, his treasured grandsons Kyle, William, and Jakob.

John was known across BC and Alberta as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Water Well Drillers in the region. Cariboo Water Wells was established in 1976 with "Brother George" Vlchek. John officially retired from drilling in 2018; however, he could not sit idle and remained a trusted drilling consultant almost until his final days. He was deeply committed and passionate about his work, as anyone that had the pleasure of working with him would attest.

John was an incredible mentor and friend to those who worked alongside him within every aspect of the trade. John was also a respected long-time contributing member of the British Columbia Ground Water Association. John and Joyce absolutely loved seeing everyone at the BCGWA Conventions!

John was well known for his love of restoring and racing vintage vehicles. He was a proud and award-winning car show participant throughout Western Canada and the US. He also was a valued member of the NITRO Motorsports Park racing family. Known fondly as "Johnny Lightning" to his friends, John was always ready to lend a hand, pour a drink, and share a laugh.

John will be remembered forever for his fiery commitment to life, and his boundless passion for living it to the fullest.

Kurt and Tanya wish to express their sincere gratitude to the many family members and friends who have supported them during this difficult journey. They are truly honoured (though not surprised) to be surrounded by the love and kindness of those who John and Joyce cared so deeply for.

A memorial service will be held in the near future; details will be announced at a later date.
