

Joseph Wayne Lalonde, 61, recently of Prince George, BC, passed peacefully at the University Hospital of Northern BC early on June 26th, 2024. He died surrounded by his partner Laura, son Samuel, and daughter Amber.
Joseph (Joey) was born on October 22, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba; but grew up in West Vancouver, BC as the family moved when he was small. He lived most of his life in North and West Vancouver, until moving with Laura to Prince George in his final years.
During his life Joey worked as a gifted carpenter, assistant tree faller, and gemologist. He lived a life full of adventure and passion for the outdoors, including hiring bush pilots for remote game hunting, and taking epic steelhead fishing trips. Adept at Bonsai, he showed his love for the art with the many spectacular collections he crafted for family and neighbors alike.
Joey was a master at catching the imaginations of those around him, an animated storyteller who always had something interesting to share. He mesmerized his children with amazing bedtime songs. When camping, he captivated his friends with many a tale by the campfire.
Joey was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Eveline Lalonde, and brothers Dave and Doug. He is survived by his children Samuel and Amber (partner Kyle); grandchildren Mason, Trinity, Tobias, Quill, Marley and Cadence; partner Laura, brother Ken, brother-in-law Dennis, sister Barb, niece Violet, sister-in-law Sharon, stepsister Auralie, and stepmother Colleen.
A private family viewing was held in Prince George on June 28, 2024. Joey will be missed by his family and many friends.
