Judy was born on September 30, 1958, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she will be remembered as a devoted and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, partner, and friend whose love and encouragement shaped the lives of those around her.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Kory (Val) and Megan (Andrew), and her cherished grandchildren: Katelynn, Kylie, Kayden, Carsten, and Adalyn. She is also survived by her sister, Heather (Dean), and her brothers, Rodney (Cheryl) and James, along with her long-time partner, John, extended family, and many dear friends.
Judy was a mother who wholeheartedly supported her children’s aspirations. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering guidance, or simply being a steady source of encouragement, she was always present and proud. She generously volunteered her time supporting various non-profit organizations and sports initiatives, giving back to her community and helping others succeed.
Judy built a meaningful and accomplished career in Human Resources, taking on life fearlessly and embracing every opportunity for growth. She began her HR journey at Finlay Forest in Mackenzie. Demonstrating determination and a commitment to growth, she later returned to school to earn her Human Resources degree. She went on to serve as an HR Manager with the BC Public Service and later as a District Human Resources Manager for Walmart, where she was respected for her leadership, fairness, and dedication to people.
The family cabin at Davie Lake, which Judy and John shared, held a deeply special place in their hearts. It became a gathering place for family and friends — filled with laughter, connection, and treasured time together. Many of the family’s most cherished memories were made there, surrounded by nature and the people she loved most.
Judy loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, hiking, paddling on the lake, and archery, always embracing adventure and fresh air.
She also loved good competition and brought energy, humor, and determination to every challenge. Judy treasured travelling and making memories with those closest to her, especially her best friends, Wendy and Gerald Rocheleau, whose friendship meant so much to her.
Judy will be remembered for her strength, warmth, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled — love, resilience, generosity, and the importance of time spent together and life lived to its fullest.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
Judy Meikle will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
