He is survived by his wife Myrna; his son Louie and daughter-in-law Sunny; grandson Braiden and Braiden's mom Tania. Also, a large extended family, nieces and nephews, cousins and life-long friends.
Lou is predeceased by his wife Trudy.
When he was 18, "The Dutchman" came to Canada from Holland and brought Trudy and his mom Lucy to new homes in Prince George. He worked at WM Tire, International Trucks, Northern Hardware, Woodward's, salesman for Inland Distributors hunting and fishing supplies, Northland Sports, Tumbler Ridge, Snap-On Tools and Re/Max Realtor.
Lou was optimistic, energetic, and generous. He loved visits especially at his Summit Lake cabin he built - with boat rides, teaching everyone to water ski, and campfire times. He enjoyed travelling to warm beach locations, but also home improvement projects and yard work. He enjoyed animals; especially his dog Laser and feeding the squirrels and birds.
Since the 1990's Lou overcame many physical health challenges.
Special thanks to Kelly Road Gospel Chapel for on-going prayers and support, to Simon Fraser Lodge staff and management for extraordinary kindness and professional care as Lou made the lodge his home and to family and friends for all their love, visits, phone calls, cards, and caring thoughts for Lou over the years.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 2 pm at Lakewood Funeral Chapel, 1055 Ospika Blvd. There will be a visitation time on Thursday, March 13th from 4 - 5 pm. A luncheon will be held at Hart Pioneer Centre, 6986 Hart Highway on Saturday, March 15th from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm.
