She is reunited with her husband Randy (Clair) Archer and the many loved ones who went before her. She will be deeply missed by her three children Chris(Shelley),Victoria(Marc) Lea(Scott); seven grandchildren Hayley (Chris), Kiel (Sheila), Aleatha (Matt), Keli (Tom), Cory, Emily (Jameson) and Colin; five great-grandchildren Kendra, Ava, Claire, Archer and Gigi; her beloved sister Lynn (Keith) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Nancy left this world a better place for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life centered on family and service, and her energy was both inspirational and infectious. A graduate of the University of Toronto, she began her career in teaching before devoting herself to raising her family. She continued to guide and inspire others through her lifelong involvement with Girl Guides--proudly celebrating 70 years of membership this year.
Her love of music wove throughout her life—from singing in choirs to her favorite place of all, leading campfire songs in the outdoors. Nature was her sanctuary. A lifelong walker, Nancy was a familiar sight in the early morning hours with her beloved dog in Mundy Park, and she led many family hikes at a spirited pace.
We take comfort in knowing she was joyfully welcomed by the many four-legged companions who adored her.
Known lovingly as “Nancy Blue” for her gift of always finding the blue patch in a sky of grey, her smile will remain a beacon to all who knew her.
As we say goodbye to her earthly presence, we, her family, hold close the memories that will never fade. There are not enough words available to capture the wonderful full life she led and the impact her presence made.
A Celebration of Life will be held online. Nancy will be interred with Randy at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Burnaby.
Walk on in peace—you will be deeply missed.
