

The Ostergard family moved to Mamquam/Squamish in 1964, where they lived for a few years while building their home on Depot Road in Brackendale. They moved into their new home in Brackendale in 1967 and lived there until the family moved to Lac La Hache in 1974.
Tanis attended Lac La Hache Elementary, 100 Mile Junior Secondary & Peter Skene Ogden Senior Secondary, where she graduated in 1980.
Tanis and her family moved back to Squamish in 1980 where they built their home in Upper Squamish.
Tanis moved to the Yukon and lived with her sister Carla for a short time and then returned to the 100 Mile House area where she had her son Matt.
Tanis moved back to Squamish in 1984 where she met her first husband Jim in a restaurant where she worked. They married in 1990 and were together until 2002. They moved to Prince George where Tanis worked at Canadian Woodworks for several years as an accounting clerk. She met Tim, who was hauling for Canadian Woodworks at that time. Tanis then changed jobs and went to Duke Energy (now Spectra Energy) in early 2002. After Tanis and Jim separated, she took a second and third job and was working at Spectra Energy, The Camelot & the Husky restaurant. As fate would have it, Tanis’ and Tim’s paths crossed again in her workplace and they started dating in 2007.
Tim and Tanis married on August 6, 2011.
Tanis continued working until she left Spectra Energy in 2016 to help Tim run their trucking business. She was also a caregiver for her mom from July 2017 until September 2018.
Tanis is survived by her husband Tim; son Matt; grandson Payton; stepsons Elliot and Nathan; granddaughter Ella; sisters Carla (Chris), Kristine (Cameron); and numerous nephews, great-nephews & great-nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents Bob and Miki Ostergard and her brother Glen.
