Charles Joseph Kelly Sr.

Born August 4, 1940 in Welch, WV, he was the son of the late James E. Kelly and Helen Beatrice (Austin) Kelly. Charles was a former Mullens Midget League Football Coach. He received the 2011 Wyoming East High School Community Recognition Award for dedication of the youth for Wyoming County. Former volunteer for the Wyoming County Opportunity Council. He was a member of the Basin Freewill Baptist Church and the UMWA. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his first wife – Ellen Diane Fink Kelly and brother Walter D. Kelly.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Twila Whitt Kelly of Westfield, NC; son Charles Joseph Kelly, Jr. and wife Deanna of Princeton, WV; daughters Lena Helen Kelly Mitchem of Crumpler, WV; Beth Kelly Baker and husband Donnie of Princeton, WV; step-sons Danny Mitchem of Dobson, NC; David Mitchem of Mt. Airy, NC; step-daughters Linda Morgan and husband Rodney of Mt. Airy, NC and Virginia Bragg and husband Matt of Princeton, WV. Brother Howard Eugene Kelly and companion Shirley Rose of Princeton, WV; two very special sister-in-laws Loretta LaSpina of Morgantown, WV and Kathryn Kelly of Corinne, WV. Nieces Lavena Lusk of Rock, WV; Cindy McVey of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren Derek Siers, Jay Kelly, C.J. Mitchem, Justin Kelly, Brooke Baker, Joshua Kelly, Kyndall Baker and Jeremy Blakey; eight step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren and many more special nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Charles will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Rd., Princeton, WV. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Hugh McKinney and Reverend Donald Cecil officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers honored to serve are Jay Kelly, Justin Kelly, David Mitchem, Steve Kelly, Howie Kelly, Jimmy Kelly, Scott Kelly. Honorary pallbearers include C.J. Mitchem, Danny Mitchem and Jonathan Croy and Bill Slaughter.
