
Born December 17, 1924 in Norfolk, Virginia to Lawrence Frank and Hazel (Stewart) Adkins, Donald faithfully served his country with the United States Army during WWII. He was a former employee of the State of WV and was responsible for immunization within the state. He was also a member of the Bluefield American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters – Margaret Farmer and Charlotte Lee, one brother, Ivan Adkins and a special life friend – Amanda Lee Sarver.
Left to cherish his memory are nephews Archer D. Farmer, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC, Larry Farmer of Edenton, NC, Bobby Lee of Portsmouth, VA and niece, Candy Hitchcock of Richmond, VA; thirteen great nieces and nephews and ten great-great nieces and nephews. Also, two special caregivers – Karen Disibbio and Donna Call.
Graveside services for Donald will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Monte Vista Park Cemetery, Rt. 123W, Bluefield, WV. Friends and family may call at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 7-8 PM and on Thursday from 9-10:30 AM.
