Helen Marie “Susie” Simpson, of Princeton, graduated to her Heavenly Home on Friday, May 25, 2018.
Born May, 21, 1948 in Catlesttsbury, KY; Helen was a daughter of the James Lewis Black and the late Anna Mae Obrien Black.
Helen was of the Pentecostal Faith; loved sewing and gardening. She served her country proudly in the United States Air Force.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Scott Boyd; a granddaughter, Ashley Nichole Simmons; and a brother-in-law, Calvin Simpson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 28 years, Wallace Vinton “Wally” Simpson; a daughter, Oneta Cartwright and husband, Randy of Ohio and a son, Wallace Vinton Simpson II of Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Ernest, Bob, Jim, Sam, and Dale; 3 sisters, Lula, Louise, and Beth Ann; several nieces and nephews; two special nieces, Suzie and Katie both of Ohio; very special brother-in-law, Al; very special friend, Betty Wyatt, whom Helen lovingly referred to as “Sissy”; brothers-in-law, Melvin Simpson and wife, Jo Ellen, Quay Simpson and wife, Patty, and Ronald Simpson; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Simpson and Beuna Denny and husband, Mike; extended family and friends; and her very special furbabies, Joy, Luke, Ena, and Winzzer.
Services to celebrate the life of Helen Marie “Susie” Simpson, will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton with her brother-in-law, Rev. Melvin Simpson officiating. With full military honors to follow. Following the services Helen will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Following the services at the cemetery family and friends and invited to gather at the VVA for fellowship.
