John “Monk” Kingrea, 84, died October 13, 2018 with his family by his side in Princeton, WV.
“Monk” was born July 8, 1934 to the late Eldridge and Lucy Kingrea in McComas, WV.
He was a welder in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Japan and a Veteran of the Korean War.
He retired as a shipping and receiving manager at Garfinkle’s Clothing Corporation in Washington, DC.
Monk met his soulmate, Norma Jean Sanders and married her on November 11, 1960. Together they raised John “Rocky” Kingrea and Sharon Hope Mapp.
Monk is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma Kingrea; a son, John “Rocky”; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Don Mapp; granddaughters, Heather and Brittany Mapp; great-granddaughter, Aria Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather with the family from 2:30PM until 3:50PM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton. Graveside rites will be held at 4:00PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
