

He was born on Jan. 8, 1916, to Danish immigrant parents in Northfield, Minn. Carl grew up in Keewatin, Minn. and graduated from Nashwauk-Keewatin High School and went on to attend Hibbing Junior College and the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., where he studied architecture.
In 1938, Carl embarked on a year-long tour of Europe, accompanied by Danish relatives. He returned to the U.S. prior to the outbreak of World War II. During the war, Carl served in the U.S. Sixth Army Signal Corps. He was involved in combat zone operations in France and Germany. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Carl returned to Keewatin, Minn, where he met and married Kate, his beloved wife of 62 years. In 1951, Carl and Kate moved to the Pacific Northwest at the urging of his brothers. They raised their four children in Kirkland, Wash.
Carl was a supremely talented journeyman carpenter, who excelled in all phases of his craft. During his career, he participated in the residential, commercial, high-rise, and heavy construction projects in the Seattle, Wash. area. He was a proud member of Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters Local 1797.Although his resume included work on many of Seattle’s iconic structures, Carl considered the renovation of his family’s Craftsman-style home to be one of his most important achievements.
He had a love of music and played the alto saxophone in his high school and city marching bands. His hobbies included dancing, hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and camping with his family.Carl had a life-long passion for the game of baseball, and coached his sons at the youth level.A highlight of his later life was a trip to Croatia with Kate, to explore the land of her family’s origin.
Carl is survived by his children, Carl O. and his wife, Kathleen Prosch-Jensen of Redmond, Wash., Paul F. and his wife, Alisa Prosch-Jensen of Port Orford, Ore., Elizabeth A. Prosch-Jensen and her husband, Patrick Gillem of Prineville, Jane E. Prosch-Jensen and her husband, Raymond Kornfeind of Edina, Minn; a brother, Robert E. Jensen of Bellevue, Wash.; five grandchildren, Paul, Eric, and Peter Prosch-Jensen, and John and Katherine Gillem.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Knud W. and Johanna Prosch-Jensen; brother, Howard K. Jensen; and his wife, Kate P. Prosch-Jensen.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian burial were held April 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Celebrant was the Reverend Father Robert Greiner.
