Jessie Rose Tavernia

Jessie was born in Post, Oregon on October 16, 1930 to Daniel Ream and Ethel Shepherd. She graduated from Crook County High School in 1948.

Jessie met the love of her life, Robert at a dance in Paulina, Oregon. They were married in Prineville on November 15, 1953.

Jessie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Alter Society, Crestview Home Extension, and Crook County Garden Club. Her passions included spending time with family, gardening ,traveling, reading, and crafting.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Tavernia of Prineville, OR, daughter Mary Wickersham of Jefferson, OR, daughter Jean Krehbiel (Dale) of Seattle, WA, daughter Joan Tavernia of Prineville, OR, and son, Thomas Tavernia (Bonnie) of Prineville, OR, brother Daniel Ream of Prineville, Or, sister Bettie Tweedt of Post, Or, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son Robert Rey Tavernia Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to Partners In Care Hospice House.

A Rosary service will be held at Prineville Funeral Home Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 5PM . A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prineville on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10AM. Interment at Juniper Haven Cemetery will follow.
