William Bill Babcock

A memorial service will be held at Prineville Funeral Home on Friday, August 31, 2012 at

2 p.m.

Bill was born in Prineville, Oregon on April 15, 1954 to Cyrus and Mary (Gordon) Babcock. He attended and graduated from Crook County High School.

Bill worked as a logger starting shortly after high school; he then earned his contractor’s license where he did residential construction for W.M. Babcock Construction. In addition to his construction he farmed hay and cattle at his home.

Bill was an avid elk and deer hunter and enjoyed going up to Maury Unit to hunt. He loved to fish and would fly up to Alaska, usually bringing his family home fresh halibut, cod and salmon. Bill was a loving father, grandfather, friend and neighbor; he enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others.

Bill is survived by his mother; Mary Gordon, sons; Eric Babcock, Ryan Babcock and Bill Babcock, Jr. all of Prineville

Daughters; Talia Gilliam of Prairie City, and Taylor Frederick of Bend.

Brother Gary Babcock of LaPine

Sister of; Carol Hayre of Prineville

Grandchildren; Cyrus, Dillon, Chloe, Nathan, Raven and Travis

He is also survived by a large number of friends and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by father, Cyrus Babcock, step-father Pete Gordon, and a brother, Danny Babcock.
