PROVIDENCE -- Heaton, Alan J. Jr., 56 of Nelson Street died May 28 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was born in Providence on September 27, 1950, a son of Alan J. and Eileen (Cummings) Heaton of Providence. Before his retirement in September of 2006, Mr. Heaton was employed by the State of Rhode Island as a Department of Enviromental Management Agent. Besides his parents, he leaves his brothers Christopher J., and Donald F. Heaton both in Nevada, and his sister Barbara A. Heaton of Providence. He was the loving companion of Diane Brownell of Norwood MA. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9am from The Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Pius V Church Eaton Street, Providence. Interment will be private. Calling Hours Monday afternoon from 4 to 7pm.
