

CranstonAlbert J. Calise, 77, of Massasoit Avenue, and Frostproof, Florida, died Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janice (Williams) Calise for the past fifty-one years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Santa M. (Mazzone) Calise, he lived in Cranston most of his life, and enjoyed a winter residence in Florida for the past twenty years where he was a member of the Order of the Moose in Lake Wales, and the American Legion Post #8, in Winter Haven. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Al was a tool setter for General Electric for twenty-seven years, and also worked for Star Market for twenty years, retiring in 1994. In addition to his wife Janice, he leaves two sons, David Calise and Albert Calise, Jr.; two daughters, Denise Calise and Michele Calise; two brothers, Gilbert Calise and Rocco Calise; a sister, Barbara O'Neill; and seven loving grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, William J. Calise; brothers, Anthony Macaruso, William and Robert Calise; sisters, Marie Madeira, Rosalina and Minnie Calise. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, at 10:00 am, in Saint Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston, to which relatives and friends are invited. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905 in his memory will be appreciated.
