

Albert Mancini, Sr., 92, of Cortland Place Assisted Living, Greenville, RI, since January 2014 and previously a life-long resident of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at The Philip Hulitar Home and Hospice In-Patient Center. He was the beloved husband of Margaret F. (Farren) Mancini, with whom he was married to for 65 years. Born in Providence on December 17, 1922, to Domenico and Alfonsina (Trapassi) Mancini.
A retired construction laborer, he was a dedicated family man. He was a corporal in the United States Marine Corps during WW II from 1942-1945, serving in the Southwest Pacific Theatre, including, New Calendonia, Enewetak and Guam. He enjoyed TV wrestling, crossword puzzles, baking, reading and spending time with family and friends. During his lifetime he always lent a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He will be sadly missed and deeply loved by all. He was a 69-year member of the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 271.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his surviving son Lawrence J. Mancini and his wife Maria E. of Smithfield. He was pre-deceased in death by his daughter Margaret F. (Margie) Peters and his son Albert Mancini Jr.
He is survived by his sister Angelina Landi, his brother Dante E. Mancini and wife Norma, all of Providence.
He is also survived by his 6 grand-children, Kelley Peters and her partner Dora Garcia, Richard A. Peters, Jr and his wife Lynne, Tara Marie Mancini, Thomas Albert Mancini, John P. Marzullo and Melissa A. Callen and her husband Craig, as well as, his 5 great-grand-children Elizabeth Tiernan, Aubrey and Isabella Peters and Alexis and Adriana Callen. He is also survived by his son-in- law Richard A. Peters, Sr. and his daughter-in-law Marilynn A. Lepore.
He was predeceased in death by his siblings Elena (Helen) Salvati, Frank Mancini and William A. Mancini.
Visitation at the PONTARELLI-MARINO Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue Providence on Friday March 13th from 9:00-11:00 AM, immediately followed by a service at the home at 11:00AM. Burial, with Military Honors, will be private.
