Amelia Vecchiarino Belisle

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Belisle for 55 years. She is survived by her devoted children, Pauline (Vito) Iovino of Johnston, Jacqueline Spaziano of Boca Raton, Florida, Gilbert (Debbie) Belisle and Paulette (Russell) Catelli both of Providence.

She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giustino and Pauline (Marino) Vecchiarino and sister of the late Joseph and Domenic Vecchiarino, Rose Gambardelli, Dolly Tucker and Mary Satterly. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A devout Catholic, she was a former member of St. Agnes Church before moving to Johnston last year and joining St. Augustine Church.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, with special thanks to Maria, for their exceptional and compassionate care.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, devoted to her family, who were her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-7 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept.142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
