Anthony B. Maciocio, 82, of South Kingstown and formerly of North Providence, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late MaryAnn (Squadrito) Maciocio.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Cardarelli) Maciocio.
Anthony was a sprinkler fitter for Providence Local 715 and Boston Local 550 for 32 years before retiring in 2004. For the majority of his career he was a foreman for Bristol Fire Protection. He was a proud and well-respected union member, known for his work ethic, leadership, and sense of humor. He was a master at his craft who trained generations of fitters. When driving through the Providence or Boston area with Anthony, he would always point out buildings he worked on, and the fondness he had for those he worked with.
Anthony thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the beach, both in South County, RI and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He also enjoyed working in his garden, cooking, and listening to music - whether it was classic rock, blues, or smooth jazz, music was a constant in his life.
Most importantly, his biggest joy in life was his family - he cherished time with his immediate and extended family. Family was everything to him - he valued simple joys like Sunday dinners, family cookouts, and working through the daily crossword puzzle with his treasured granddaughters.
Anthony left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was truly a presence and a one-of-a-kind man who will not be forgotten.
He was the brother of Benjamin J. Maciocio, and father of Michael J. Maciocio, his wife Carmelina, and grandfather of Emma and Elizabeth. He was also the father of Anthony B. Maciocio, Jr.
His visitation and funeral will be held Friday, April 17, 2026 from 8:30 – 10:30 AM in the PONTARELLI-MARINO FUNERAL HOME, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Grace Church, 15 George Waterman Road, Johnston. Burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
