Antonio "Tony" DeSousa

PAWTUCKETDeSousa, Antonio V. "Tony", 48, of Centre Street, passed away Wednesday at the Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel G. and Gilda (Amaral) DeSousa.Tony was a self employed Handyman for most of his life, and was a communicant of Saint Patrick Church in Providence. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who would do anything for his family.He leaves his two children, Anthony and Karissa Harrison of Johnston; five grandchildren, Anthony, Jr., Isiaha, Gisselle, Lyalo, and Isabella; a brother, James M. DeSousa, of West Palm Beach, FL; four sisters, Alice DeSousa and Rosa Soares of Canada, Maria Cabral, of Pawtucket, and Madalena Harrison-Lombardi, of East Providence. He also leaves his companion of 30 years, Dawn Harrison.His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am in Saint Patrick Church, 244 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
