Providence: Blackburn, Arline A. (Wood), 92, of Modena Ave, passed away on Monday at RogerWillilams Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Blackburn (P.P.D. Ret) for 67 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Beaulieu) Wood. Arline was a supervisor for New England Telephone Company for 33 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Edward A. Blackburn of Providence and Sheila A. MacColl of Jamestown, two sisters, Sheila Stringfellow of East Providence and Doris Wall of Providence and 4 grandchildren.She was the mother of the late James J. Blackburn and sister of the late George and Arthur Wood. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitng hours, Thursday, 4-7 pm.
