On May 5, 2017, our Lord called home, Barbara (Wilson) Ferguson of Chepachet, where she was given the ultimate care from her daughter and son-in-law. She had lived in Johnston for sixty years. Barbara was the wife of the late Edward Ferguson and daughter of the late Thomas and Maude (Leach) Wilson. She was the cherished mother of Thomas Ferguson and his wife Lori and Debbie Taglione and her husband Ronald Taglione. Proud grandmother of David Ferguson, John Taglione, Drew and Cole Ferguson. She was the precious Aunt of Honey Kane, Edward Grant, Evelyn Byron and several nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated and devoted friend of many at the Forand Association with whom she enjoyed spending time with including bazars, bingos, playing cards and many other events. She was employed by the Johnston School Department for twenty-six years. She was a devoted and cherished family woman, and was a kind, generous and giving member of the community. She was loved by all for her wonderful sense of humor, kind heart, and has helped many. She fought a courageous battle and never complained. She was definitely an inspiration to all of us. Our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and certainly the emptiness of her absence. Barbara was one of a kind. Calling hours Tuesday, 4 - 8 PM, in the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith St. Providence. Funeral Wednesday at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnson.
