

She was the daughter of the late Bernardo and Cirena (Pitassi) Romano. Bernice was the cherished wife of F. Michael “Mickey” Sechio for 57 years. She was the beloved mother of Lori Sechio of Sarasota, FL and Dina Sechio DeCristofaro of Greenville, RI, with whom she resided. She also leaves her dearest sister Dianne Sepielli and her husband Russell of Weston, FL. She was predeceased by her brother John B. Romano and his wife Carol. Bernice was the devoted Grammy of Leah and Justin DeCristofaro, her treasured grandchildren. She also leaves several dearly loved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Bernice dedicated her life to her faith, family, and friends. She was deeply devoted to her Roman Catholic faith, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, religious education teacher, and Third Order Franciscan. Her husband and family were her greatest joys. Bernice will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, kindness, and support for anyone in need. Her smile would light up a room. She will be deeply missed.
Bernice’s family would like to thank Carmela Marcello and Diane Sechio Bogosian, as well as the team from Beacon Hospice, especially Kristi Kasanovich, for their extraordinary, loving care.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4-7 p.m. with funeral services Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Philip Church Memorial Society.
