C. Virginia Gardner

C. Virginia (Fanning)Gardner , 94, a resident of Providence for over 75 years, passed away at her home on February 13, 2015. Mrs. Gardner was born in East Providence a daughter of the late William F. and Catherine E. (Carroll) Fanning. Before retirement in 1993 she was employed with the Providence School Department as a secretary for over 26 years working in both Broad St. and Camden Ave. Schools. She formerly was employed with United States Veterans Administration and the Navy Department. Mrs. Gardner was a graduate of Bryant College, and a communicant of St. Pius V Church in Providence.She was the loving mother of Kathryn Arakelian and her husband Kenneth, and the grandmother of Amy and Alyssa Arakelian all of Kingston, RI. Her funeral with visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 9 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 331 Smith St, Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas Aquinas Priory Chapel of the campus of Providence College. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Virginia's memory to; St Pius V Church 55 Elmhurst Ave, Providence RI 02908, would be deeply appreciated.
