

Carl R. Jackson Jr., born on September 18, 1951, in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. He was the beloved son of Carl R. Jackson Sr. and Joan Ann (McGovern) Jackson.
Carl was raised in the Wanskuck section of Providence, Rhode Island, where he graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. He later continued his education at Johnson & Wales University earning a degree in Marketing. After completing his studies, Carl eventually made Tampa, Florida his home. He lived there for more than 33 years and built a long and fulfilling career in the marketing department of The Tampa Tribune, where he was known for his dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit.
Carl is survived by his brothers, Shelby Jackson III and wife Lydia of Wallingford, Connecticut, and Thomas Jackson of North Providence, Rhode Island. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, Amanda Shabo and Hayley Webler, as well as his nephews, Shelby Jackson IV and Thomas Jackson Jr., all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service honoring Carl’s life on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the service and gather at the entrance of the cemetery.

Carl will be remembered for his gentle nature, quiet strength, and the deep love he held for his family. His presence will be missed, but his memory will remain a source of comfort to all who knew him.
