

He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta Sullivan for over 62 years, and the son of the late Ida (Ashness) Sullivan. Carl was a veteran of the Korean War and retired as manager from the Providence Post Office in 1983. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Chapter 21. He was a wonderful, caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Carl enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved being with his grandchildren whom he adored, and his best buddy, Al Santaniello, with whom he shared many fun escapades and memorable times.
Carl is survived by his six daughters, Carlene Casten and her husband Richard of Virginia, Brenda Sullivan, Kerrie Sullivan and Erin Sullivan of North Providence, Laurie Sullivan and her wife Melissa Albright of Florida, and Maureen Charello and her husband Louis of North Providence, with whom he lived. He also leaves his seven cherished grandchildren, Brian Casten and his wife Kelly, Patrick Casten, Heather Sullivan, Kathleen Casten, Michaela Simoneau, Matthew Charello and Madisson Charello.
He was the beloved brother of Beverly Petit, Carolyn Anderson and the late June Sadowski.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Thursday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Funeral Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by burial with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (Chapter 21), c/o 21 Hunters Run, North Providence, RI 02904.
