

WARWICK - STAUFF, Charlotte A., 83, of West Shore Rd., died Monday at Avalon Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late William A. Stauff. Born in Uxbridge, MA, a daughter of the late James R. and May (Porter) Thorpe, she had lived in Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. Stauff had been an elevator operator at the former Hospital Trust Bank in Providence for many years before her retirement. She had been a member of the Buttonwoods Bible Chapel, and also had served as the church custodian for many years. Along with her late husband, she had volunteered and ministered to the residents at West Bay Manor. She is survived by her children William J. Stauff in Georgia, Leland C. Stauff of Robesonia, PA, May E. Crane and Ruth N. McKnight both in Warwick, Margaret A. Stauff of Pawtucket, and Betty J. Blair in North Kingstown; a brother Samuel Thorpe and a sister May Stephenson both in No. Carolina; eight grandchildren Will, Heidi, Anneliese, Derek, and Devin Stauff, Richard and Josh Blair, and Melanie McKnight, and was anticipating her first great grandchild in three months. She was the sister of the late Barbara Cole. Her funeral will be Saturday at 8am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick. Services at 9am in Buttonwoods Bible Chapel, 311 Buttonwoods Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4:30-6:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Buttonwoods Bible Chapel, 311 Buttonwoods Av., Warwick, RI 02886 in her memory will be appreciated.
