

Christine M. "Tina" (Ward) Harrington, 90, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away February 19, 2017 at Solaris Healthcare, Charlotte Harbor, Florida. She was the wife of Robert V. "Bob" Harrington who passed away on May 20, 2016 at the age 0f 93.Born on October 12, 1926 on Chalkstone Ave. in Providence, R.I., she was a daughter of the late Michael F. Ward and Theresa (Healey) Ward. She was a proud graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, St. Patrick's High School, and Bryant College.She was an Executive Secretary and Office Manager in varied fields throughout her lifetime, retiring from Underwriters Adjusting Company in 1991.She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Cranston, RI for 45 years. She had been a former President and active member of the St. Matthew's Women's Club and for many years, the volunteer Secretary for the Religious Education Program. She and her husband were members of Dillon Council Knights of Columbus in Providence.She is survived by sons Robert H. of New Hampshire, Patrick J. and Christopher J. of Cranston, Kevin J. of Bangkok, Thailand, daughter Donna M. and husband Michael of New Hampshire, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted friend to many in R.I. and Florida. She will be dearly missed by her lifelong friend and "little sister" Bebe St. George of Ware, Ma.In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Michael F. in 2003 and her seven siblings: Charles Noonan, Dolores Halperin, Loretta Gardner, Francis Ward, Bernard Ward, William Ward, and J.Marie Barry.A Mass of Christian Burial was held at San Antonio Catholic Church, Port Charlotte on Thursday March 2, 2017 attended by many friends in the Lakes Edge Condominium Community. Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 21, 2017 at 8:45 am from Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street in Providence. Catholic Memorial Service at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Avenue Providence. Burial will follow at the R.I. Veteran's Cemetery.An evening of remembrance in honor of Tina with thoughts and observations will begin promptly at 7:00pm on Thursday April 20 at Russell J.
