Claire E. Tessitore

NarragansettClaire E. Tessitore, 89, of Crestwood Dr, and formerly of Texas Avenue, Providence, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Louis M. Tessitore.Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alexandria "Alice" (Cloutier) Durning.Claire worked for the Providence Journal Company in the Classified Advertising Department for more than twenty-five years before retiring.Claire enjoyed spending time with her children, watching basketball, her birthday, boating, the ocean, ice skating, fashion and of course Tom Brady. She was a communicant of Saint Mary, Star of the Sea Church.She leaves three sons, Thomas R. Tessitore and David A. Tessitore, both of Narragansett, and Richard L. Tessitore of Orange County, CA, a daughter Jane M. Tessitore, of Coventry, her loving grandchildren, Shayla and Alexa, and a great granddaughter Ava.She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Tessitore, her siblings Marion A. Durning, Joseph T. Durning, Eileen A. Sullivan, Amelia E. Sousa, William Durning, George Durning, Lillian J. Tracy, James Durning, Yvonne B. Maher, Loretta Durning, Annette Durning, Leon R. Durning and Charles O. Durning.The funeral will be held Friday, at 8:15 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home 142 Centerville Road (Route 117), Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Dagget Avenue, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm.In lieu of flowers donations to Family Assistance Recreation Program, Town of Narragansett, 170 Clarke Road, Narragansett, RI 02882 in her memory will be appreciated.
