Cristino Matias-Jimenez, age 87, of Farmington Avenue, Cranston passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on October 2, 2023. He was the beloved husband to Estervina (De-Leon) Matias.
Born in the Dominican Republic, he was a son of the late Francisco Matias and Hipolita Jimenez.
Cristino was the loving father of Cruz, Estela, Marcia, Rossanna, Clariza, Belarminio, Antonio, Maria, Felix, Manuel, and Victoria; devoted brother of Rafael, Jose, Elsa, Veno and Aura Matias; cherished grandfather of 26; and great-grandfather of 2.
He was known as a very comedic person and was always in high spirits. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, but most of all he loved helping others whenever he could.
His visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Ave, Providence followed by a service in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
