

Deborah Jean Boucher “Debbie”, 49, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away on February 9, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer, at her home in Port Charlotte, FL. Born in Providence on August 2, 1966, she was the daughter of Maria C. Zonfrillo (Groccia) and the late Dennis L. Boucher. She was also the loving granddaughter of the late John and Rose (Avanzo) Groccia and the late Adrian and Irene Boucher. A 1984 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, she was employed at Roger Williams Medical Center, in Providence for over 25 years, before her battle with cancer made her permanently disabled. In that time, she was the living caregiver of her mother, Maria and lived every day to the fullest. Besides her mother, she leaves behind her brothers, Kenneth M. Boucher, and his wife, Teresa, of Cranston and her twin brother, David M. Boucher, and his wife Elayna, both of Cranston; a niece Danielle Boucher and a nephew, David Boucher, who she cared for deeply; aunts and uncles, Jack and Barbara Flanagan, Rich and Sue Groccia, and John and Annette Groccia. A special thanks to Jackie Murphy for being Debbie’s best, most loyal friend and being there for the family in this time of need. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 3:30 pm, in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Burial will be private.
