

Doris Claire Ward, age 101, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late William R. Ward, with whom she shared forty years of deep devotion, companionship, and unwavering love before his passing.
Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Doris was the daughter of the late Mark Aurel and Bertha Delia (Hebert) Sareault. She grew up rooted in faith, family, and kindness; values she carried gracefully throughout her long and beautiful life.
Doris was the devoted mother of Janice M. Ward, Mark R. Ward and his wife Linda, Barbara J. Martin and her husband Dennis, and the late Patricia A. Ward and William M. Ward. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniel Ward, Timothy Martin, Kerry Martin, and Kimberly LeMonnier; and the adored great-grandmother of Sophia, Elena, Esmée, and Jackson.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Doris lived with a gentle spirit and a heart that gave endlessly. She was the matriarch of her family; steady, warm, and ever smiling. Her unconditional love touched every life around her and her presence brought comfort, strength, and joy.
Her family will forever remember the grace with which she lived, the kindness she offered without hesitation, and the quiet resilience that carried her through more than a century of life.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 from 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
