

Royal Palm Beach, Florida Edgar F. "Ted" Gill, 81, of West Greenway Drive, died suddenly Wednesday at home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia J. (Sullivan) Gill. They were married for fifty -seven years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Harry S. and Madeline F. (Kelly) Gill, he was raised in the Smith Hill neighborhood of Providence, and lived in North Providence for many years. For the past several years, Ted and Pat lived full time in Florida and have a summer residence in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Ted was a customer service supervisor for the U. S. Postal Service for thirty three years, retiring in 1986. Upon retirement, Ted became a professional driver for Arrow Limousine Company, and worked for many local funeral directors. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church, Warwick, and St. Rita Church, Florida, where he also belonged to the Forever Young Club. He was a member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors, and a long time volunteer at St. Patrick Church, Mary House Ministry. Ted also founded the MGM Annual Golf Tournament. Besides his wife Pat, he leaves two daughters, Brenda M. Walker and her husband Brian H. Walker, and P. Erin Gill; and four loving grandchildren, Patrick J., Timothy P. and Hannah R. Walker and Shannon B. Redding. He was pre-deceased by his son, Brian P. Gill. The funeral will be held Tuesday, at 8:45 am, from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours Monday, 4 - 8 pm.
