Born in Australia, a daughter of the late Percy and Mamie (Emerton) Wood, she had been the wife of the late Anthony Manocchia for 65 years.
Mrs. Manocchia had worked as a seamstress and had retired from the Virginia Dare Store. She was also an artist, as well as a gourmet cook, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
She was the mother of Ross Manocchia and his wife Patricia; grandmother of 3; great-grandmother of 7; sister of the late Molly Dunohoe, Harrie, Garnet and Lyle Wood. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, 10-11 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Interment will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. A Memorial Mass will be held in December at the St. Augustine Church, Providence, at a time to be announced.
