

He was the son of the late Edward and Rosanna (Bulpitt) Kelley; husband of Lucille (Iluzzi) Kelley; father of Kathleen A. Andrews and her husband Robert, Beth E. Kelley and her companion Steve Hale, Jennifer Briggs and her husband Keith, also of Robert J. Tondreault and his wife Rae Ellen, Paul Tondreault and his wife Laura, Jeanne Ricciardi, Michelle DeCurtis and the late Nancy Lindsay. Ted also leaves 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of William Kelley and his wife Sandy, Raymond Kelley, Paul Kelley and his wife Sandra, and the late Patricia Clarke.
Ted was a 1954 graduate of St. Raphael Academy. He then served four years in the U.S. Navy as a Parachute Rigger. Following his Navy years, he was a member of the Teamsters Local 251 until retiring in 1998.
Ted had a big smile that could light up a room and he loved to entertain. Growing up as a tap dancer, he always shined on the dance floor and had the opportunity to perform live on the Steve Allen Show. His love of music and dance was paralleled by his love of sports. Ted was a true New England sport enthusiast. He was fortunate to attend many professional games including a big Stanley Cup playoff game in 2013 with his grandsons.
After retirement, Ted was blessed with many opportunities to travel with his wife Lucille. He enjoyed taking daily brisk walks, working in the yard and playing cards. He especially enjoyed his wife’s phenomenal cooking.
Visitation and funeral will be held Monday, 9:30-11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the PONTARELLLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. Burial will follow with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
