Son of the late Jose and Palmira (Fontes) Pereira, Ed is survived by his sister, Millie Senra (Octavio) of Asheboro, NC and Dartmouth, MA, his brother, Jaime Pereira (Lucy) of North Dartmouth, MA as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed will be truly missed by many dear friends, especially his former partner and best friend, Jim Rocchio of North Providence.
Ed was formerly employed by Bank of America in Boston and Providence for over 35 years. Ed’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his friends and his interests were many. He loved to travel, was an avid reader of mystery novels, a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan and most of all, loved Broadway Theater. He loved being active; biking, tennis, bowling and especially softball, where he spent over 20 years playing in Boston and Providence leagues, making life long friends along the way.
Ed was a beautiful soul; deeply caring and complex beyond anyone’s imagination. Although he hated clichés, it needs to be said…To know him was to love him. He was smart, handsome, defiant, funny, tenacious and silly, all of the charming characteristics that made him uniquely Ed.
We will miss you Ed and you will forever be in our hearts.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Edward's memory may be made to Broadway Cares at https://broadwaycares.org.
