After she completed high school, she studied at St. John’s College in NY and received a BS in Chemistry, with a minor in Zoology. During the summers of her college years, Elizabeth became acquainted with the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary at their summer camp where she was a counselor. During the General Chapter in Rome, 1960 she was the Province Delegate for the Indian Province. In 1969 she was once again missioned to be Superior of Ootacamund.
In November of 1970 Elizabeth was missioned back to the United States where she was named Local Superior of St. Francis Hospital Convent, Roslyn, NY. In March, 1973 Elizabeth was elected Provincial of the USA Province. After two terms as Provincial, Elizabeth obtained a Masters Degree in Theological Studies at Chicago University in 1982. She became a member of the Emmaus Team for Renewal courses in Rome in 1983-1986 as well as a member of the Renewal Team for Ongoing Formation at Bethany Retreat Center, 1986-87, North Providence, USA. Her next mission was in Portales, NM where she did parish work and then in 1989 was missioned back to NYC as Local Coordinator. Next she was missioned to Cambridge, MA to be Vice President for Mission Effectiveness at Franciscan Children’s Hospital and Local coordinator until 2003.
