Francis M. Reddy

Providence: Reddy, Francis M., 82, of Smith street, passed away on Friday at Our Lady Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Murphy) Reddy. They were married for 59 years.Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Flynn) Reddy.Francis was a Business Agent and Officer for Teamsters Local 251 for 22 years and a member for 52 years. He was a World War II Army veteran and a communicant of St. Augustine Church.Besides his wife, he is survived by his 4 sons, Kevin G. Reddy, President of Teamsters Local 251, and his wife Nicole; Lt. Patrick G. Reddy, PPD, and his wife Joan; Sean G. Reddy, PFD, and his wife Debra; Brian G. Reddy and his wife Patricia; and the late Francis and Michael Reddy. He was the grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Julie, and Kristen Reddy and Ryan Fitzgerald. He was the brother of Albert, Joseph and Donald Reddy and Ann Coccio as well as the late Katherine Hallam, Doris McDevitt, Patricia Fee and Sharon Bergeron.Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son, 331 Smith St., Providence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm.
