George E. Morrell, 84, passed away May 19, 2015. He was the son of the late John and Louise (Marsocci) Morrell; husband of Edith (DiCicco) Morrell; father of Cherel A. Barboza, Robin A. Bartone and husband Frank, Dawn M. Morrell and “Zoe”; grandfather of Giovanna, Kyle and Logan; great-grandfather of Olivia and Cristiano; brother of John M. “Jack” Morrell, Roslyn Cataldi and Diane Cantone.
George had been a financial secretary before retiring in 1996 and was a member of Painters Local 195. He had also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Friday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence, followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
