Geraldine A. Campellone Volpicelli

Born in Providence on March 31, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Emilio and Vera (Lautieri) Campellone, and wife of the late Francis A. Volpicelli Sr. She was the sister of Camille Gieck and the late Vincent and Raymond Campellone.

Geraldine had worked as a waitress for Ballard’s of Smithfield, Mainelli’s Restaurant and the Welcome Café before becoming the owner & operator of Anthony’s Restaurant on Federal Hill in Providence.

She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Mary Ann Roux and her husband Adrian, Louis Volpicelli and his wife Robin, Emilio Volpicelli and his wife Paula, and Frank Volpicelli Jr. and his wife Mary Ellen. She leaves 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her most cherished friend, Linda Barbery, whom she loved like a daughter.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 5-7:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service to celebrate Geraldine’s life at 7:30 p.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence.
