Gladys enjoyed the supplementary attention provided by the caring staff of Kindred Hospice Gentiva. Gladys was born and raised in Medford, MA. She graduated from Boston University's program of Practical Arts and Letters and was the recipient of the Louis Orenberg Award for her unobtrusive leadership and excellent character. Gladys married Sheldon S. Sollosy in 1949. In 1953 Gladys flew to Fairbanks, Alaska to join Sheldon who was stationed there in the US military. Gladys and Sheldon moved to RI in 1954 to open the Rhode Island franchise of Manpower Inc. Gladys continued to give generously of her time and excellent organizational skills to a myriad of civic and religious institutions. She also served in administrative positions for many of them. Both she and Sheldon believed that it was their obligation to give back to the community that sustained their business. She was the President of Providence Hebrew Day School and was a strong supporter of The New England Academy of Torah.
